| Yes, AcidNitrol has stirred from his online slumber...
Firstly, I have a good chance of having a new job within the next four days...I don't want to say too much in case I jinx it, but fingers crossed.
Secondly...where did you all go, I was browsing my subs and some of you have vanished. Even Katiefinger has vamooshed off to her own private domain (nice site by the way).
Thirdly, I'm writing this in a web browser called Epiphany using a Linux operating system. I can't get my head around it. I always wondered how Microsoft could dominate when there's a free alternative on the market. They can dominate because everything in Windows is easy. I've been using Linux for three hours now and I haven't managed to succesfully install anything yet. Everything is just so awkward...thank god, I can go back to Windows just by pushing CTRL ALT. Linux would drive me crazy!!

| Oh my...it doesn't rain but it pours. Remember I said I was going to do some volunteering work? Well the organisation that collates and effectively administrates the volunteering sector, theWolverhampton Volunteering Bureau, has just shut down due to lack of government funding. Fan-tas-tic.
Regardless, I'll trudge on through the mire of collapsing banks, company bankruptcies, inflation and the credit crunch looking for that opportunity that's going to see me through. I'm hoping to start a City and Guilds 9297 Certificate in Adult Learner Support (Literacy) in the near future and with the adult training sector booming at the moment (especially those funded by the Jobcentre) this could be my meal ticket.
So there, a glimmer of light in an otherwise stormy world.

| Yay! I woke up this morning and found that the Large Hadron Collider hadn't opened a black hole and annihilated the planet. It would have been rather unfortunate if it had.
Still time though, they don't actually start colliding particles for another few weeks...
Tis funny though. The hysteria I mean. It isn't as though this is the only particle accelerator on the planet.

| Well, I still don't have a job. At a guess, I've probably sent over 1500 applications over the past couple of years and haven't any luck with a single one.
So, I'm going to apply for some volunteering work and see what happens. Firstly because I hate sitting around doing nothing - it drives me potty and makes me an intensely boring person, and secondly because if an employer out there realises I'm working hard for nothing, maybe they'll stop being an arse and actually give me a job.
If I'd known in 2005 what I know now, I'd have taken that job in Cambridge as a copywriter. I turned it down because I wanted to come home and thought "Wow, I've never had to turn a job down before. I'll have a job back home in no time!". What a mistake. <slaps head>.
One day, one day this blog will be cheery and funny and represent me much better than it does now. Until then, I'm going to be grumpy.
Humpf.
